Privacy Policy

1. About FilmTerms

This policy describes the privacy practices of FilmTerms: Filmmaking Guide, published by Anthony W. Brown / Breakwater Films Productions (referred to here as “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Data collected by the app

FilmTerms does not require account registration or a login. The app is designed to provide filmmaking terminology, educational guides, study tools, and search features without collecting personal information for the developer.

We do not use the app to collect personal information for advertising, sell personal information, or track users across other companies’ apps and websites.

3. Voice search

The voice-search feature is designed to process speech on your device to help find filmmaking terms. FilmTerms does not upload voice recordings or voice-search content to a server operated by the developer or retain your recordings in a developer-controlled database.

Microphone and speech-recognition access, where requested, can be managed through your iPhone’s Settings. Device operating-system services may have their own privacy practices; review Apple’s privacy information for those services.

4. On-device app information

Features such as saved terms or study progress may store information locally on your device so that those features work. We do not receive that locally stored content through the app. Removing the app or clearing its local data may remove locally saved information.

5. Support emails

If you contact us at filmterms-support@breakwaterfilmsproductions.com, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use this only to respond to your inquiry, provide support, and address feedback or reported issues. Support email is routed through Cloudflare Email Routing to our receiving email provider, which processes messages to deliver them.

Please do not send passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal information in support requests. You may contact us to request deletion of your support correspondence, subject to any applicable recordkeeping obligations.

6. Sharing and security

We do not sell personal information. Support correspondence may be handled by the email and infrastructure providers needed to receive and respond to it. We take reasonable steps to safeguard support messages, but no email transmission or storage system can be guaranteed fully secure.

7. Children’s privacy

FilmTerms is a general educational reference resource. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. If you believe personal information was sent to us in error, contact us so we can address your request.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if FilmTerms changes or our privacy practices change. The current version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
